You can create a folder and put a customview.html file in it, and the format of that customview.html can have a java chat applet like you can get from ICQ or Jabber in it.You can put any of the panels from
http://www.icq.com/panels/tools-catalog.html
on that customview.html and get all kinds of functionality.Ditto on
http://www.jabber.org/
for the Jabber open source chat tools. The same can be done with 'The Palace' from
http://www.communities.com/welcome/index.html
, you can setup your own Palace server and host your own chats right from that customview.html page. You can also write a custom module to pass username and password to a generated page so each user has their own identity and avitar.Lastly, the FirstClass Collaborative Messaging Server has been integrated with Livelink by MorningStar Systems and you can buy that module. ID Technology is proud to inform you that
IDT Chat Module
is now avaible.
This is an
HTML based chat
integrated in Livelink: this chat is moderated & fully transcriptable.
No additonal server other than Livelink is required.
