Simple Object Access Protocol - SOAP
Mike_Oliver_(MorningstarUser3_(Delete)_1426757)
MorningStar Systems now has a SOAP Module for Livelink 813 or higher. The XML/SOAP documents are posted to a Livelink SOAP Document node where permissions and filters are applied to limit access to and execution of Livelink Built-In functions, $Global.Reference.objects, .local objects and the submission of and execution of Oscript files wrapped in the SOAP Envelope. There is a SOAP Command Central container for all your SOAP Nodes, and a series of SOAP Request handlers for everything from testing SOAP Requests, to POSTing of BizTalk Framework Documents, to Electronic Signatures and Approvals of SOAP Scripts.Because SOAP is language and platform neutral, and because a SOAP Request has the potential for accessing any Livelink module and method, this SOAP Module is like a language neutral, platform neutral COMPLETE API for Livelink.Yet because it leverages Livelink permissions and has filters to limit functionality, it is as secure as LAPI, yet it is multi-threaded and can cache the output for high performance. The capabilities are much greater than can be described here, but for more information and a demo call Sean Gamber @ 410.902.7633 or email: Sean_Gamber@MorningStarSystems.com
