Any tried using Livelink for Action Item Ticketing?
James_Schardt_(LMGTUser1_(Delete)_2167537)
Just curious...Has anyone out there tried using Livelink forms/workflows to develop an "Action Item" system or something similar? Would also be interested in different implementations of RFS (Request for Service) and/or HelpDesk Ticketing systems using Livelink.

You can use a Task List for Action Item Tracking. In situations where you need to assign and track Action Items within a work group, you can create a Task List named Action Items. Then use the list to assign individual Action Items to a responsible person. If you need to have an Action Item number for tracking purposes, you can create an Attribute Category with the Attributes you want and apply the Category to your Task List. (There was a bug in 8.1.3 that made Attributes unuseable with Tasks, but that has been fixed in 8.1.5) You can also write a LiveReport that will show the status of your Action Item Tracking List. The primary limitation would be that you can't assign a Task to more than one person --the first person in a group who completes a Task completes it for everyone, and it disappears from the Task Tab of everyone's Personal Workspace. We're hoping that Open Text will enable Task assignment to multiple individuals in the next update of Livelink --it would be a big improvement.

I think using tasks and attributes is not the original question. The question was whether someone used the forms and integration with workflows to implement a ticketing system.Well I can answer this. In the past we did set up a prototype for this using forms/workflows but the project has been cancelled. IMO the forms integrated with workflow can be a very powerfull technology to implement these systems as the end user does not have to know anything about tasks, Livelink, workflows etc. The only thing he/she should be able is to fill out a prdf form. Very easy!RegardsJohan RaedemaekerAsBuilt - Groupware for Construction and Infrastructure projects
