Not quite sure whether "how" means "for what purpose" or the mechanics behind it. Maybe a product manager will reply too, but here's my take:- For what purpose: To build new "portals" for display in the myLivelink interface. For example, if you have a changing database of information at your company that you would like to present as a section on a myLivelink page, you can create a "widget" that polls that information source on a regular basis and displays it to users who ask for it. There are many, many types of "widgets" that one could create to help users--our imagination is the only limitation.- Mechanics: The WDK is a set of JavaScript, IDL (Interface Definition Files), Java and C++ files that define classes, plus a sample widget, plus documentation that explains what it's all for and how to use it. Most developers create new widgets by duplicating the sample widget and then editing its methods and fields. You can use Java or C++, plus you need Inprise VisiBroker to do the CORBA work that's involved. Plug for training: There's a two-day training course to get you started....Marie Lindsay, Open Text Technical Education
