When will there be a JDK1.2-conform LAPI??
DeTeCSMAdmin_(Delete)_2274648
When trying to use LAPI out of a JDK1.2 program I get an Class-Verify Error. Is there a possibility to use LAPI-Klasses in JDK1.2 apps?

It will be supported in V9.Thanks,Simone > -----Original Message-----> From: eLink Discussion: LAPI Discussion> [mailto:lapi@elinkkc.opentext.com]> Sent: Friday, August 11, 2000 5:28 AM> To: eLink Recipient> Subject: When will there be a JDK1.2-conform LAPI??> > > When will there be a JDK1.2-conform LAPI??> Posted by DeTeCSMAdmin on 08/11/2000 06:23 AM> > When trying to use LAPI out of a JDK1.2 program I get an > Class-Verify Error. Waiting for version 9 is unacceptable! Investing any more time and energy into O-script is a complete waste. Will there be a (reliable) Oscript to Java utility? Also, will V9 actualy provide a reasonable object abstraction to LiveLink instead of the cumbersome LLValue-based approach? How about a Document object? If you could at least share the class structure you are considering it would help with classes we are writing at this moment.your support for Javas is frankly, shameful!

Perhaps we can share our experiences? For instance we found some bugs in some functions wasting many hours...My E-Mail address is Andreas.Placzek@telekom.de

LAPI will work with Java 2
. All OT would have to do is change one line of code in the api and recompile it. Here is what they need to do: Change the String.getBytes(int, int, byte[],int) method to the non-deprecated String.getBytes() in the writeString method of the LLOutputStream class. (you can get this info from >javap -c com.openttext.api.LLOutputStream-- provided the package is in your classpath)Since LLOutputStream is a simple class to recode you could rewrite the class using the pcode as a reference. Once you recode this, replace the OT version of LLOutputStream with the one you created. Comple your java file and presto LAPI works with java 2. If you have questions email me at whitejr@jfcom.milJonathan

Message from Simone Oettinger via eLinkLAPI supports Java 2 in version 9, due in a few weeks.Besides the "one line of code" change and recompilation, Open Text also rana full suite of regression tests as part of the QA process. So, I recommendthat everyone hold that urge to hack and wait for a supported and QAed V9:-)Thanks,Simone> -----Original Message-----> From: eLink Discussion: LAPI Discussion> [mailto:lapi@elinkkc.opentext.com]> Sent: Tuesday, September 26, 2000 11:20 AM> To: eLink Recipient> Subject: Geting LAPI to play with Java2.>>> Geting LAPI to play with Java2.> Posted by JTASCAdmin on 09/26/2000 12:20 PM>> LAPI will work with Java 2

Why are my 3 former replys corrupt?
David_Slimmon
I'm not sure why they've been corrupted. Can others tell me if they've experienced the same behaviour with their postings?Regards,Dave
