LLIOException Server did not accept open request

Hello!I am getting an inconsistent error message that I cannot understand. I have developed a Java application that will recursively go through the objects of a particular stucture, and return audit information about each of the objects in that structure. Unfortunately, I receive the following error messsage before my program can finish. The error you are receiving usually indicates that the Livelink method being called could not open/read/write from the output stream.

 

There is a timeout built into the system to counter denial-of-service attacks.  Livelink Server closes a socket if it has not received router packet information from the sender within 2 seconds of when the socket connection was opened.  If this timeout is reached, the error on the LAPI application side for JAVA may be "LLIOException: Server did not accept open request".

 

The value of this timeout can be changed in the opentext.ini [sockserv] section, and a key named AcceptTimeout with a time timeout value in milliseconds.

 

e.g.

 

[sockserv]
AcceptTimeout=5000

 

This will change the timeout to 5 seconds (5000ms).  This value should be kept as low as possible while still curing the problem so as not to override the denial-of-service protection.

 

AcceptTimeout is not included by default in the opentext.ini file.

 

You may want to give this a try, and see if it resolves the issue.
