Currently we have Livelink 8.1.5 installed on an NT platform using MS SQL and external file storage. Next year we are going to a platform similiar to one proposed by Professional Services with two Solaris machines to handling the one as a Database server and the other as an Admin server with failover for each other. There will be two front end NT servers, with load balancer, as web servers. Additionally sometime in the same timeframe we plan to go from MS SQL Server to Oracle and upgrade to Livelink 9.0.First question:Is either Solaris 2.6 or Solaris 2.8 more preferable than the other for Livelink application(s).Second:Does livelink recommend or market a cluster client to utilize when using Sun M. cluster?

Message from David Slimmon via eLinkHi there,In answer to your questions:1. Livelink 9 (which will be our next major shipping release) still prefers either Solaris 2.6 or 2.7.Livelink is not certified against 2.8. Somebody please correct me if I'm mistaken.2. The answer to clustering question tends to vary from site to site and is always variable on a client'sneeds. Moreover, the "answer" is typically arrived at as part of a larger process with our ProfessionalServices organization. Recently, Open Text has put together the Enterprise Scalability & Performance Group toinvestigate, recommend and deploy just the kinds of configurations you're interested in. While they arebased in Europe, they might be a good place to start. You can reach this team at:emea.enterprise@opentext.comRegards,Dave-----Original Message-----Currently we have Livelink 8.1.5 installed on an NT platform using MS SQL and external file storage. Message from Benjamin J. Shapiro via eLink Livelink does not require any special client to work with the SunCluster system, and in fact works quite well with it. And, to clarify, the Enterprise Group out here in Europe has been aroundfor more than two years.
