When will Livelink Java be released?
Sun_Livelink_Admin_(sunmic01admin_-_(deleted))
Does anyone know what the time for the Livelink Java release? I am in the process of starting a new projectusing Livelink and some other tools. The purpose is tointegrate livelink with other tools. One way is to designour own web app and talk to livelink using LAPI. Anotherway is to use Livelink as the entry point and integrate itwith other tools using the Corba module, which involvesOscript programming. I wonder if I should wait for thelivelink java, and if I do, how long I have to wait?Any feedback is highly appreciated.FengSun Microsystems

Open Text will have to give the definitive answer, but based on what we have seen I wouldn't expect it before the middle/end of next year.I would either use LAPI (we have used the JAVA LAPI very successfully) or the CORBA module for the interim.

Thank you very much for the input. Do you know if LAPIis complete? i.e. can you access all the functinalities the native LiveLink provides, including the optionalmodules? For example eLink, LiveLink Spider, etc. Thanks in advance.Feng

Message from Simone Oettinger via eLinkHi FengLAPI supports about 90% of the core Livelink features. As for the optionalmodules, it is a feature of the module itself, whether it supports LAPI ornot. Currently, the only optional module that provides LAPI functions isLivelink Forms (that functionality is still in beta).Be aware that some LAPI functions, such as "move", "copy", etc, will work onall node types. The "create" and "update" functions are trickier, andrequire a better understanding of the node data structure. Please refer tothe LAPI documentation for details on which nodes type are supported. As for Livelink Java, sign up for the Open Text user conference in Texas atthe end of this month, if you haven't already, and you will have a chance tolearn more about it and many other things we are working on. Here is thelink:
