Questions about Livelink Builder development??
Ronald__Jayne_-_Disabled_15-Jul-05_(x-afmcuser1_-_
I will be doing Livelink development on my NT 4.0 workstation. Our Livelink installation and Livelink database (Oracle) are located on separate NT 4.0 servers. - What software do I need to install on my workstation in order to do Builder development? - Do I need the full blown core Livelink installation that connects with the external database?- How do I do development on a "development" version of our installation while the "production" version is running and serving customers??

I recently went through the same questions when setting up my own Builder environment for Livelink 8.1.5. If you are configuring for a Livelink 9.0 system the requirements might be different than below:You need to install a full version of Livelink on the NT workstation then install Builder on top of that.If you currently only have a single "production" instance of Livelink, you will also need to setup a separate Oracle database for the development environment. At my site we already had separate "development" and "production" Livelink & Oracle servers, so I could just point my personal Livelink Builder to the "development" Oracle database. Open Text told me as long as you aren't changing the database schema there is no harm having two Livelinks point to the same database.Hope this helps.Paul
