Need LiveReport To ID Items A Deleted User Had Access To
Michael_Higgins_(mhiggins_-_(deleted))
I need a LiveReport to identify all of the "items" that a deleted User, (User removed from Livelink), had permission access to.This would be useful to remove the deleted User from the subject item(s) or to back-fill the deleted User with their replacement(s).By the way, does anyone have a LiveReport to replace a deleted User automatically with a specific User in specific areas? Thanks in advance for the assistance....Mike HigginsLL Admin General Dynamics Advanced Technology Systems

Message from Bax Ruud, F.C. via eLinkYou could try the attached report.- It only works for Oracle- It takes a long time to complete- It asks for a userid as parameter (maybe you should change the query toomit the 'deleted' part of the user) <<itemsowned.txt>> > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht-----> Van: eLink Discussion: Livelink LiveReports Discussion> [SMTP:livereportsdiscussion@elinkkc.opentext.com]> Verzonden: dinsdag 13 februari 2001 21:56> Aan: eLink Recipient> Onderwerp: Need LiveReport To ID Items A Deleted User Had Access To> > Need LiveReport To ID Items A Deleted User Had Access To> Posted by mhiggins on 02/13/2001 03:53 PM> > I need a LiveReport to identify all of the "items" that a deleted User,> (User removed from Livelink), had permission access to.> This would be useful to remove the deleted User from the subject item(s)> or to back-fill the deleted User with their replacement(s).> By the way, does anyone have a LiveReport to replace a deleted User> automatically with a specific User in specific areas?> Thanks in advance for the assistance....> Mike Higgins> LL Admin General Dynamics Advanced Technology Systems> > [To reply to this thread, use your normal e-mail reply function.]> > ============================================================> > Discussion: Livelink LiveReports Discussion>

If instead of deleting the user you change the Log In Id and the password, you will have a User Id that you can log on with and that has access to everything the previous user was allowed access to plus their Home Page but the previous user will not know the new User Id or the password - this means you don't necessarily need a LiveReport. An additional approach I have to users that need to be removed from the general system is to change their department to a catch all group - with few or no permissions (mine is called OldUsers) and change their password or remove their ability to log in (untick the check box). Does this help?

Bax Ruud,I tried your LiveReport (LR) with some success: 1. Found items for deleted users who only "owned" a few items 2. For deleted users who owned several items, (140, 200+, etc), the display screen remained blank and indicated activity was done when the LR was set for a LiveReport, [Please note, I waited several minutes for the display to provide results], however, when I set it for AutoLiveReport, I got results. Using the "LiveReport" setting is more desirable, as you can act on the displayed items 3. I understand this LR is for only those users who were deleted, and I appears to work this way. 4. I have one deleted user who owns several items, however, I get the error msg. "Server did not respond...". This happens with both the LiveReport and the Auto LiveReport set.If I could get your LR to function properly, I can see some real benefits from it. It meets part of my original topic subject where I wanted a LR to capiture all of the items that a deleted user has any individual permission(s) to, so I could go into the items and remove the deleted user's name and replace it, it needed, with someone else.Any assistance with the resolution of the problem areas discussed above would be most appreciated. By the way, we are using this SQL with: Oracle; LL Ver. 8.1.5. Again, thanks for your help.....Mike Higgins

Message from Bax Ruud, F.C. via eLink1. So that works perfectly2. It takes more time to create a LiveReport because a lot of extrainformation is to be collected. It works fine in our system however the number of entries in the dtree table might be a bottleneckin your case. It's limited in our case, 15.000. It doesn't make a lot of difference in our case if I set it toAutoLivereport.3. No, it's for all users. It queries the usernames with an asterisk at theend => like username%4. I seem to have the same problem with some deleted users; I've no ideawhy, sorry !> -----Oorspronkelijk bericht-----> Van: eLink Discussion: Livelink LiveReports Discussion> [SMTP:livereportsdiscussion@elinkkc.opentext.com]> Verzonden: donderdag 15 februari 2001 22:09> Aan: eLink Recipient> Onderwerp: Tried it - had problems through> > Tried it - had problems through> Posted by mhiggins on 02/15/2001 04:04 PM> > Bax Ruud,> I tried your LiveReport (LR) with some success:> 1.
