What do RightID values represent in Permission List?

I have created a script that outputs the permissions on a folder. It displays the RightID and the permission value for that folder. I have managed to decipher the integer value of permission set to a get "See, See Contents" type text. I am now interested in what the values stored in the RightID represent.Usually, these values represent the group names and/or usernames who have permissions on the folder. However, there are four numbers that appear on every folder -1, -2, -3, and -4. The system schema makes reference to values 1, 2, 3, and 4 where 1 represents owner, 2 represents owner group.. and so on. My question, is what do these negative numbers represent? I am not getting positive numbers returned, only negative values. And the -1 does not correspond to the owner permissions that I see on the folder when I veiw it through livelink.Also, how do the numbers match up for project workspaces. Again, I get -1, -2, -3 and -4 on a project, but what do these values mean? Does one represent Coordinators? Members? Thank you, I appreciate your help, but I am looking for negative numbers. I understand what 1, 2, 3, 4 represent, but my LAPI script is returning Negative Valued RightIDs...I get-1-2-3-4and an associated permission.If anyone knows what the negative versions of these represent, please let me know (they are not the same as the positive versions of the same numbers, I have already checked).Nick Cristellonicholas.cristello@alcatel.com

You could maybe try to give a look to action-editACL script and see what livelink is doing with those rightIDs

I realise that this is an ancient thread and maybe the world has moved on, but in case anyone ever trawls back here again, I have worked out:-1 means Public Access-3 means Public Access is disabled for this object, but the original public access permissions are still recorded in the Permissions column of this row so they can be restored later.Sorry, I haven't worked out the others yet.Anthony Hall

Here is my comprehension of what you should see in dtreeacl
