LLCOM vs LAPI
Martin_Jahr_(mjahr_(Delete)_2450438)
Hi,I wrote some small sample apps in VB to campare LAPI vs LLCOM performance. For the tests, I created a several loops to simulate heavy load. I experienced a considerable memory loss when the application ran, e.g. after 1000 logon/logoff pairs, the memory went up to 140 MB! (Starting with 3 MB). I rechecked my code, but everything there is fine... Someone else experienced this, too?I'm running LL815SR1RegardsMartin

Simone: LLCOM refers to the ActiveX layer that allows access to LAPI. All of the API object's names start with LLCom...Sathyia: It was LLCOM where I experienced the problem. Both different approaches reside in different programs, there is no mix.The problem must be somewhere in the LLCOM Logon code since LAPI works without the memory leak. Other LLCOM operations (like creating or deleting documents) work fine, too.

I am struggling with the documentation and examples provided with LAPI. Does anyone know a good code source or document set for either LLCOM or LAPI?

Message from Simone Oettinger via eLinkThanks -- I wanted to make sure I understood what you are referring to. The"official" name for LLCOM is the Livelink Desktop Developers Edition (quitea mouthfull
). We have a partner who has developed a different COMwrapper over LAPI as well, so I wanted to make sure.As for the memory leak, I suggest you report this to our Technical Supportgroup. They can help investigate if the problem is in fact in LLCOM.ThanksSimone-----Original Message-----From: knowledge@opentext.com [mailto:knowledge@opentext.com]On Behalf OfeLink Discussion: Development DiscussionSent: Wednesday, April 11, 2001 1:33 AMTo: eLink RecipientSubject: Simone LLCOM refers to the ActiveX layer that allows access toLAPI.
