Explanation of $LLIApi.AuthentPkg.GetHiddenPassword

I am trying to create module that overrides the default executewithlogin() and replace it with one that allows the a user to be logged in by only entering a username (as opposed to usename/password). My question is is this: possible without the password and what is the purpose of the $LLIApi.AuthentPkg.GetHiddenPassword function.
