Access a request handler

As a newbie to LAPI is there a possibility to access a requesthandler I have written and get back a Record?Reason I ask is that we use this function for a Livelink function and now would like to have a widget access the same data without having to rewrite the logic in the client ...Regards Magnus Salgo
