Java LAPI v9 no longer works in normal Browsers
Woods_Simon_(sglcuser27c_-_(deleted))
I am writing a small Java Applet which displays information obtained from a V9 Livelink Server. I am also using the V9 SDK and was relatively happy untill I tried to get the java to run in a browser. On connect I get the following Java Exception:method compareToIgnoreCase (Ljava/lang/String)I not foundat com.opentext.api.LLWebAuth. (LLWebAuth.java 19)at com.opentext.api.LLConnect.at com.opentext.api.LLSession.and so on.On closer inspection of the Release notes I found the following one liner:"Java LAPI Clients must now be compiled using Java 2.0 (JDK 1.2.x or higher)."What is this telling me - I need Java 1.2 in my Browser? If this is the case then this means effectively that the Java API can only be used for standalone applications and cannot be used for applet programming!!!! (Your normal run of the mill browser has JDK 1.1.5!).Can someone put me out of my suspense here?Do we need to get a hold of the V8 LAPI?Simon WoodsSiemens Business Services

Message from Vinit Kulkarni via eLinkAs far as i know, Livelink v9 comes with LAPI that can be used with jdk 1.2.xAPI's. To run a applet with 1.2.x you would need a plug-in.Information for this plug-in available at this url.
http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/1.2/docs/index.docs.htmlRegards,Vinit
