Project child objects... Posted by eLink on 10/02/2001 02:41 PM Message from Sean M Alderman <sean.m.alderman@grc.nasa.gov> via eLinkGreetings, Can someone give me a brief explanation of the relationship between a project and it's objects? For instance, a folder's children have their dtree.parentid set to the parent's dtree.dataid. From what I can tell, items like folders and documents in the root of a project have their dtree.parentid set to the parent project's dataid except it's negative. The variance I've seen here is that any sub projects have their parentid set to the parent's dataid, but these numbers are positive. Is this correct? I'm asking because I'm trying to build a program (currently with Perl and DBI) which will recursively sum the dversdata.datasizes of the contents of an object (like a compound document, folder, or project. I've already taken care of the folder and compound doc, but the project structure is giving me some fits. Thanks. -- Sean M.
