LAPI v Desktop Developer Edition
Oscar_Armstrong
Looking for comments on LAPI v Desktop Developer Edition (VB6 enviro). LAPI requires the purchase of SDK but COM facilities in Desktop Developer Edition are availble to download. What are the differences, ie why one over the other? I am taking the LAPI class soon and it may all become clear then but was curious of opinions of other who have 'been there done that'. Many thanks.

Message from Simone Oettinger via eLinkHiLAPI is a programming interface to Livelink. It currently provides about 90%of the end-user funcionality available through the web interface. Itsupports not only VB, but Java and C++ as well. The LL Desktop COM objects are built on the top of LAPI. They only addressfunctionality that is used by the Livelink Desktop product.Depending on what you want to do, you may or may not need full LAPI.Good luckSimoneSimone OettingerProduct ManagerOpen Text Corporation(847) 267 9330 ext 4224simone@opentext.com-----Original Message-----From: knowledge@opentext.com [mailto:knowledge@opentext.com]On Behalf OfeLink Discussion: Development DiscussionSent: Friday, October 12, 2001 7:58 AMTo: eLink RecipientSubject: LAPI v Desktop Developer EditionLAPI v Desktop Developer EditionPosted by CONDEAUser3 on 10/12/2001 08:54 AMLooking for comments on LAPI v Desktop Developer Edition (VB6 enviro). Implication of this topic is that you can download Desktop Developer Edition to use rather than purchase the full LAPI product. Am I misinterpreting? I already have LL Desktop licenses.
