DTreeACL makes the System very slow

Hi,We have a major performance problem because of the DTreeACL, that's very large (ca. 600.000 rows). When I log in as Admin I don't have any problems because I don't own much objects. But when a normal user log in the response time is over 10 seconds!The whole database is cached and we have 4 CPU's & 2 GB RAM but it seems that each time a user views or fetches a document, the DTreeACL gets scanned from "head to toes", because of the user access rights.Does anybody have any experience with this issue?

Do you mean the speed on open the file or the speed on=n avigate the folders ?

This shouldn't be a problem. We have over 13,000,000 rows (Oracle DB) and don't experience these problems.1). Make sure the indexes described in the schema book are present as it is possible for indexes to get deleted. You should have dtreeacl_index1 and dtreeacl_index2 (these are V8 indexes...I don't know about V9).2). You also mention that logins take over 10 seconds. We had a problem with logins taking a long time...it turned out to be because of cataloged items. If you have a fair amount of cataloged items you might want to look at creating an index based on the CATALOG column of DTREE.Best Regards,John Simon

Hi Guys,I have a customer in Germany who has DTree =132000 and DTreeACL = 906000 enties (MS-SQL 7.0 SP3). no performance problem with 14.000 User (5 Front ends)DB-Config:4x Xenon CPU 550 Mhz4 Gbyte RAM What is your configuration? I had a problem twice with a slow MS-SQL. After a new installtions of Windows 2000 the problem was gone and I didn't dig into it.CheersTobias
