How to save values in a session?

I am converting a JSP/Servlet based app to Livelink. (don't ask why). Here is my problem:I have a request handler which gets called from multiple forms. Now, I want to save the values from the first form in a session (prgSession?) and refer it when the second form calls the request handler. In a Java servlet this was straight forward. How do I do it in Livelink. I do not see any functions like setAttribute in prgSession.Your will be greatly appreciated!Krish

In a web based environment like LL you have two options:

1. Pass all the information to the browser everytime.

2. Store the info somewhere on the server.

 

Unlike in client-server based solution you don't have an open session in web based environments. So it is not possible to relate information to a session.

 

When you don't want to send all the information every time to the browser, Livelink provides a caching mechanism. For details have a look at $LLIApi.CacheUtil. In this case you still need to pass the cache ID to the browser everytime.

To me it is not clear if this can be used for your problem.
