Dates before 1970

Phil_Benjamin_(PBenjamin_(Delete)_2245960)

I have read a lot of the discussion about adding date values to Date attribues in Livelink using LAPI 8.1.5. We do not have a problem with this. However, when we use the existing code for dates before 1970, it does not work, and does not return an error code.(If this is a worry to you, I suggest you test it on your own systems.)Does anyone have a fix for this? Thanks,Phil BenjaminEnron Europephil.benjamin@enron.com

Phil,There is a setting in the opentext.ini file that allows dates before 1970 to be entered (at least when manually populating attributes). You might try contacting your Livelink adminstrator to see if changing this value also affects your LAPI application.Regards,John Simon

You are correct, and we have already investigated this. Unfortunately it does not have any impact on the LAPI issue. Thanks,Phil BenjaminEnron Europe

If you tell us where the problem is maybe we can point in some directions...Suggestiona) Use the Builder and override the functions you need b) Extend LAPI with new functions (also using the builder ...). c) Put the functions with the problem outside Livelink.....My suggestion hire someone with skills on the Builder... /Magnus@ids.se

For the web interface the solution is in the opentext.ini file:

InputDateMinYear=1990InputDateMaxYear=2027I don't know if this will also work for LAPI programs.A complete description of the opentext.ini file can be found in the help pages provided on the admin page. Just select 'Help for this page' when you are on the Admin page.
