Setting profile information(attributes) in Livelink

I am a new user of Livelink apis. I am trying to add a document and pass its profile information by setting its attributes.I have added the document successfully. I need help in setting the attributes of the newly added document.I have used the following Api's LL_ListObjectCategoryIDs(to get the category identifiers), LL_Fetchcategoryinformation(for getting the category version), LL_SetObjectAttributesEx and LL_AttrSetValues. All the functions return no error but the attributes are not getting updated.
