Manually Flagging a Record for Indexing

We have a situation where we would like to run an update on the dtree table to modify the names of documents. The problem is if we do so, the new changes will not be indexed. We do not want to purge the data flow to re-create our index.Can anyone explain to me how records are placed in the dtreenotify table and what ntypes are? We thought we would still run the update on the dtree table then insert the appropriate records in the dtreenotify table.We did not want to run the DAPI.RenameNode function on all of the documents we were modifying as there are a large amount of them and the function is time consuming.Has anyone attempted this or does anyone have any thoughts?Thanks in advance.
