Expanding user profile form or creating new form?

I want to create either an expanded user profile form or possibly a new form that the users could upload information themselves. It would contain various fields - drop down boxes, etc. Once the form was created and users uploaded their information, I want to be able to search by some of the fields. Would this involve some custom search feature or a live report?Finally, want to be able to take the data and export it to Excel or some other format.Has anyone created any type of "people databases" like this. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Our shop would like to add the same functionality. However, we are deferring any customization of user profiles because:o Livelink V 9.1 enhances the standard user profile to include several new, PRE-DEFINED, user attributes. You cannot add your own attributes. See the attachment for details.o The release that follows V 9.1 will completely redesign the user profile to be a standard Livelink node. All customization you do now will probably have to be rewritten when you upgrade to the V 9.1 successor.If I were to implement a solution now, I would likely use one of the Livelink forms modules (sorry, I don't know much about them) and maintain my user forms in a folder or project. There would be no linkage between the Livelink User Profile and my user profile forms but at least the information would be captured.Paul
