How to fetch info from office documents?

Main Q: is there any way to get info out of a office document when it is added to livelink? I would like to get the document properties or information from the document header and store that information in livelink separatly. Maybe as attributes.Ways to do this I can think of is a) Desktop extension, b) some kind of converter like transit + development on the server.Q1: Are there any better ways?Q2: Has anybody done something similar?thanks a lot,Jesper
