Dropdown populated by Attributes as userinput for Report

I'm looking for a way to let the user choose from a dropdownlist as userinput for a Livereport.This dropdownlist should be filled by attribute values.(like: select discipline from categorytbl)We are working with LL 8.1.5.If it is impossible in V8, can it be done in V9?Thanks,Chris.
