Search if Folder Exists in VB

I'm searching how to make the proper LAPI call to search if a folder exists given a particualar path. is there a way to do so with the LAPI, or what is the best way to search for a folder?I've see it done using ADO querying the database DTREE table, but my current senerio has resticted me to just the LAPI?Any suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks, Brad
