If you want to focus the report on a specific folder, use the object ID number in the where clause of your SQL --"where parentID=34678". You can specify additional folders by using multiple ID numbers with "or" between them.

This sounds like the sort of thing that might be easier to accomplish with a search than with a LiveReport. If you're interested in the "descendants" of the folder (as opposed to just its children), you'll probably need to write a query using Oracle's CONNECT BY or a stored procedure in MSSQL, which is much harder to do than doing a "from here (Extended)" search and choosing the "created on" system attributes. You can save the search criteria as a query for later use.

The problem is that the user know any ting about the folder ID number. Is there any way to tell the system "Search for Here"

Don't make the user put the number in. Hard code the number into your SQL. Another option would be to write a search query instead of a LiveReport.
