How do i get the filestream using livelink API

Hi, I am interested to get the document through the file stream which is not to be stored in hard disk (due to performance issues ). I'm calling FetchVersion method using JAVA to get the document from livelink but document gets copied to the local disk mentioned in the filepath.Is there any Livelink API for the same. Has any one done this before in there project or do any one has got any idea to implement the same . Thanx and Regards
