Cats & Atts in "Add Document" Form
Jesper_Wiken_(IDNordicUser2_(Delete)_2300285)
We are looking for ways to decrease number of clicks a user has to do when adding a document with cats & atts. One way is to do a "Add Document Form" where mandatory cats & atts are included. We would also have to develop a new function that recieves and stores both the atts and the document.Similar functionality for chosing classifications at the same time would be even better.Has anyone done something like this? Or has any suggestions?thanks,Jesper

Message from Dave Kerrigan via eLinkInteresting idea, this is actually how it used to be in v815! When the cats and atts were enhanced for v9 to provide sets andmultiple values for attributes and multiple categories I think they moved it out into the pop-up window mainly to simplify the UI.My only suggestion would be that before any development begins you work through the scenarios for different cat and att settings,e.g. not just a single straight-forward category with a few attributes.RegardsDave Kerrigan-----Original Message-----From: eLink Discussion: Development Discussion[mailto:development@elinkkc.opentext.com]Sent: 06 August 2002 10:59To: eLink RecipientSubject: Cats & Atts in "Add Document" FormCats & Atts in "Add Document" FormPosted by IDNordicUser2 on 08/06/2002 05:58 AMWe are looking for ways to decrease number of clicks a user has to do when adding a document with cats & atts. One way is to do a "Add Document Form" where mandatory cats & atts are included. Message from Sean M Alderman via eLinkI agree, I've done a couple v.9 generation cat/attr modules, and theaddition of multiple atttribute values, multiple categories, andmultiple category versions for an item adds a level of complexity that Iinitially wasn't prepared for when I sat down to code.On Tue, 2002-08-06 at 08:06, eLink Discussion: Development Discussionwrote:> RE Cats & Atts in "Add Document" Form> Posted by eLink on 08/06/2002 08:06 AM> > Message from Dave Kerrigan via eLink> > > Interesting idea, this is actually how it used to be in v815!
