I have seen the following request posted on several occasions, but have never found the LiveReport that will meet the requirement.I am trying to determine all the members of a specific group (which may contain other sub groups). Does anyone have any SQL that could be used in a LiveReport to get that information. And the list would need to include not just the immediate children of the group but all users in nested sub groups.Our OS is Sun and our database is Oracle.If anyone has a solution, could you please provide the specifics that I should input in the LiveReport and what boxes need to be filled in etc. Thanks,

Look in this discussion for examples that use CONNECT BY.

Here's an example from Alex Kowalenko:

Be careful, though -- you could get into a recursive situation, where a group is a member of one of its sub-sub-groups.

I don't have an Oracle db handy against which to try this query at the moment, but I'm guessing that when used in a LiveReport, Livelink will trim all that nice padding that Alex put in here.

I have read through previous and had not found what would work.Shouldn't there be an input here so that I could put in the name of the group and then get all the members of that group and sub-groups?I am the Business Admin - we don't have a Systems Admin to do these for me. Any further assistance on how I would fill out the Live Report form would be beneficial.

Hmm.... The query I posted would list all groups and their subgroups. Since I don't have easy access to an Oracle db at the moment, I'm going to hope that someone else can respond to you, so that I don't just post guesses here.

What I need to do is put in a name of a specific group and get all the users of that group and any subgroups belonging to that top group.

Thank you. This does it with one exception: It would be great if I could also include Department in the Report. Is that possible? How would I add that to show in the results?
