Different Email Servers for LL Notification
Tech_Writer_(edscauser5_-_(deleted))
I'd like to know if there is a way to send LL notification to different email servers based on users/groups. It looks we can only put one SMTP server ID when configure notification. Thanks,

Because two different groups that use different email servers share the same Livelink system.I think it's possible by customization. If somebody knows, it'll be easier to start. Thanks,

Message from Magnus S?lg? via eLinkThe idea with email is that not every user should sit on the same email server. The email application (SMTP) supports that an email is sent from one server to the other. So if you just put one SMTP server name inside Notification config some clever guys out there has fixed that email sent out is directed to the right server. If that is not so inside your company that people on one email server can send an email to some other people I think you need to hire one of those clever guys....Still confused but on a higher levelMagnus@ids.se

Message from Dave Kerrigan via eLinkIf a user on one of the mail servers is able to email a user on the other mail server then you don't have a problem. For emailing,Livelink is just a client - so if a user's email gets through then so will Livelink's.Is the question being asked because you actually have a problem or is it because you are planning a deployment and thinking thoughdifferent scenarios for how everything will work?I hope this helps, if not, it would probably be useful to provide some more details on the actual problems being encountered.RegardsDave Kerrigan-----Original Message-----From: eLink Discussion: Development Discussion[mailto:development@elinkkc.opentext.com]Sent: 09 August 2002 17:55To: eLink RecipientSubject: ReRePosted by EDSCAUser5 on 08/09/2002 12:41 PMBecause two different groups that use different email servers share the same Livelink system.I think it's possible by customization.
