Customizing Document Object

Is it advisable to customize the out of the box Document object of Livelink? What are the possibilities? We need to add custom commands in the function menu and add functionality through them. Any pointers as to how this can be done?Thanks

Adding new functions to standard LL objects is a supported customization. How it is done is explained during the Livelink SDK course and described in the builder help. You need to orphan a WebNodeAction and a WebNodeCmd.
