(Builder) help with midnight notifications

I am attempting to create a custom notification that is triggered at midnight. This notification will do a select on the db and send e-mails off to certain individuals with results from the query. I have this working to some extent. Here's what I have so far:

1. In Builder, I have orphaned off LLAgent.LLAgentObjects.PingerHandlers.

2. I set .fPingerID=1421 (I don't know if the ID is relevant or not).

3. I set .fOnlyAtMidnigh=TRUE

4. In the Execute() script, I wrote a script that would send off an e-mail (to myself, for testing purposes).

To test this, I have manually been changing the clock time on my computer to just before midnight. The e-mails are sent and successfully received, but only sometimes. I can't pinpoint when/why they don't get sent.

If I leave the services running overnight to test this in "real-time", I never get anything. So far, I have only received these e-mails by manually changing the time.

Also, in the Admin pages "Configure Scheduled Activities", the Midnight Event Producer is set to Enable.

Any help? It seems like there is zero documentation on this.

Hi David,Have a look at the AgentSchedule table and take notice of the NextTime column. If you roll your clock ahead a few times for testing, you may put this time at a too-far-in-the-future date, preventing the agent from being run that evening.I sometimes put the NextTime date back to the year 1900 just to get the Agents back to today.I hope this helps, chris

As Chris mentioned, you can check the agent schedule to determine whether the agent executed. A useful tool to debugging agents is to add the following line to the [options] section of your opentext.ini file:RunWithoutLogin=TRUEThis will allow you to debug the process in builder, just advance the system clock beyond the 'next time' and launch builder, put a breakpoint in and then execute the RH, ...?func=notify.runagent.Good luckDave
