Interfacing Livelink with Middleware Systems.

Is there any way by which Livelink can be interfaced with Middleware systems. We mainly require this for our Workflows that interface with SAP. During every month end the SAP system is down for the montly processing for say 2 to 3 days. But we want the users to continue using the Workflows. The request from Livelink would go to the Middleware system and the Livelink request will be terminated. Now the request would lie with the Middleware till the time the SAP is down. Once SAP is up again the Middleware will post the document to SAP. This is what we intend to develop. Can anyone please suggest me as to how can this be done?Thanks and Regards,
