In the earlier version, since attributes were system attributes, they were able to select one for searching that could be found in multiple categories (for example, the attribute TO might be in, and is in fact, used in eight categories). This was a common practice when searching as they are a government agency and often had to fulfill public disclosure requests. Obviously they cannot do this v9.1 and it is their only problem with the new version. It is not difficult to set up search templates but they do not want to fill in an attribute criteria field more than once. They are not interested in a LiveReport solution as they wish to see the search summaries. Has anyone come up with a good way to handle this (workaround, custom programming, etc.)? Has anyone had this same issue? Any suggestions or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Obviously I'd like them to overhaul their categories, but that is a gargantuan task as this is their document control system. I did try to achieve this using slices, but it appears (from the search logs) that a saved slice forces the searching of ALL content, metadata, etc. I don't know enough about customizing the search to get around this right now.Has anyone dealt with this or done any customization to the search to allow searching of a single common attribute across multiple categories?
