HELP PLEASE! - Discrepency between LAPI search and web based search

Using LAPI 8.1.5, we are seeing a discrepency between using LAPI and using the web based interface... Can someone clarify if the LAPI search functions are "scaled-down" from what OT is doing in the web based interface? An example would be the "Search from here" link... using the web gui, I get 15 documents, doing the same search using LAPI, I get 2 documents. Big difference, but everything looks to be the same...HELP PLEASE!!!!!! It would be really nice if OT support would answer this question.

Message from Jeremy O'Connor via eLinkLAPI uses the same search as the Web Interface. You are probably not usingthe same query as the web interface and that's why the results are not thesame. When you do a 'from here' search through the GUI, you are searchingon all regions in a certain location. When searching from LAPI, you areusually searching on a specific region like OTNAME, or OTDATA, therefore youwould see less results through LAPI.
