Outstanding tasks by user, using LDAP groups

How do we generate a report for outstanding tasks by user when the tasks are assigned to LDAP groups? Currently the task will show up in the individuals assignments and email notifications work, but when you run a standard live report for Outstanding Tasks by User - those assigned to the LDAP do not show up on the report. There is no option to select the LDAP group, only the individuals name within the group.
