Custom Search puzzle

We have a category of document where there are two important attributes - lets call them A and B. Attribute A may have the same value on a varity of documents - SSN or SIN for example. The user comunnity is familiar with Attribute B and would like to use Attribute B as the search criteria but they would like the results returned as if they had searched on Attribute A. Example: 1)Find the first record that matches the users criteria Attribute B)2) Get the value of Attribute A on the found record3) Get all the records where Attribute A = Attribute A4) Return results.
