Start with .... Connect by ... slow for DTREE

Hi, whenever I tried a Livereport using Oracle "Start with ... Connect by ..." in DTREE table, regardless the "start with" object is a small folder or I applied other where clause to narrow the search, the query typically ran for minutes. Is this always the case because:1) DTREE has too many rows and part of the query has to scan the whole table2) Certain columns are not indexed for my where clause3) The way the "Connect By" works, the execution plan is just not efficient.Can some of you experts be kind enough to tell me if there are ways to improve the performance of such query to DTREE.
