Accessing the Livelink search objects in my XML skin?

I'm trying to develop several XML skins and need to display the search and add features you would normally find in a default Livelink view. Is there an Object I can reference in my xsl to reference these items?

Message from Kevin Ward via eLinkIn Livelink 9.1 SP3 there are two requests that are part of the LivelinkSearch XML API which should help. They are search.getslices andsearch=getregions. Search.getslices returns the slice names, nodeIDs, anddescriptions. Kevin:Thanks for that answer, I'll put that info to work also. But what I'm asking about is the actual "Search" field(s) that display on the transformed XML document. The objects the user will type their search criteria in? The "Search Livelink for:" area. I need the "Add New Item" feature also.Rick

The documentation Ireferenced also details the func=search request which takes a series ofparameters that execute the search. It's not the same request as doing thesearch through the normal interface. Instead, build your own form using theparameters mentioned in the documentation and have it submit to the SearchXML API. This can then also return the search results in XML.It's all documented in the Admin Help. Kevin,I am very interested in reading up on this. We have SP3 installed, but I cna't find the info you mention under Indexing & Searching. Are the pages attached with a particular module?

This is al part of the appearance PSO.

It exports the information to rebuild the standard search widget you get on all the normal pages, including all custom slices you created. In the example stylesheets that comes with it it shows how to create the widget with XSL.

The same is true for the add items list and in fact everything else that is on the standard Livelink browse page.

There is a lot of useful information for developers in the Admin Help slice. Its a good practice for your administrators to add that help slice to the slice folder on your dev servers and limit the access to administrators and developers.
