Basic 'custom workflow step' question

hi,we've created some custom workflow steps and can see the steps in the painter, have been able to add our own custom 'panes' to the edit step screen (will still need to figure out how to save data from the edit screen), but now we're trying to figure out HOW to execute our custom code from the step.example, when you create a custom handler, you put your code in the 'execute' script - what's the equivalent of that in a custom step?i.e. where should we put our code to run when the workflow comes to our step.thanks!!!
