Retention Management and LiveReports

Is anyone using Livelink categories/attributes in conjunction with custom LiveReports to setup a "poor man's" Retention Management capability? - Users would assign documents a mandatory retention code (custom attribute) when documents are added- LiveReport would identify (and optionally delete) documents that are subject to purging based on the retention code that is assignedWe are hoping to get our Livelink installation started with reasonably good document retention approach, but really can't afford the Records Management module. Anyone who can share how they are managing this within their installation would be appreciated.
