Directory Services entry in opentext.ini

After installing the Livelink Directory Services module v.2.2.2 on Livelink 9.1 SP3 I find the following entry (among others) in the [Security] section of the opentext.ini. What does it mean or what is it reffering to? that this is a "Livelink" module?[Security]DirectoryServices=Livelink

In my install DirectoryServices is set to NTLM, perhaps this entry tells it what method it is using (LDAP, NTLM, or Livelink - ie standard login, no sync). At least that's how the Authentication entry works....
