CreateUser function in LAPI with Directory Services

We have a Livelink system with Directory Services installed. If you manually add a user, you don't give a password. It's "hidden" and the system generates the password. I want to use LAPI to create users. I have to supply a password and afterwards 'reset' all passwords using the function in the administrator pages.Does anyone know of another way without the need to reset the passwords?

In the opentext.ini file under the [Security] section, you can add the following setting:

HidePasswords=TRUE

The users will then be created through LAPI and through the web interface with hidden passwords (specify an empty password in CreateUser). Note that if you then want to create a non-authenticated user you'll have to create them and then change their password to something other than the hidden password.

Kevin,I've tried using the CreateUser with an empty password, but then I get the error message that the password is not valid and should be 7 characters or more.....Will I have to turn of the checking?

Ah yes, I forgot about that. Yes, you will currently have to turn off the checking. This has already been entered as bug #1845598.
