I've created my own module. Within this module, I have a custom action. What I need this action to do is simply move the file from one folder to another while removing all the permissions including the owner and inheriting everything from the destination parent directory. Has anyone done something like this yet or do you have any snippets of sample code? Thanks for your help!

Hi,Moving the node and changing ownership is the easy part, of course, calling the appropriate LLNode methods. The trick is making sure the user has the appropriate permissions to do this within the source and destination folders. One way around this is to use a temporary prgCtx, where the user temporarily becomes the Admin user. Doing this, you can do any node manipulation you would like, then delete the temporary prgCtx to make sure the user does not retain Admin privileges.Here is an example:1) add the attached script to a "Utils" object under Root and name it "su" - this is the script that will return the temporary prgCtx object.2) In your script, you will create the temporary prgCtx, do your node manipulations and then delete the temporary prgCtx.// get a temporary Admin prgCtxDynamic tmpPrgCtx = $YOURMODULE.Utils.su() if !isError(tmpPrgCtx) // move your node using the appropriate llNode methods // modify ownership, etc. // only delete if your temporary prgCtx is not the same as your current prgCtx (ie, you were not already logged in as Admin) if tmpPrgCtx != prgCtx tmpPrgCtx.Delete() end endGood luck,Donna NallsWisteria IT
