Error accessing Enterprise WS using LL Web Services in .NET
Sander_Hofman_(shofman@opentext.com_(Delete)_24724
Message from Sander Hofman via eLinkHi all,I am trying to get the C# Livelink Web Service sample project to work and Ihave problems accesing the Enterprise Workspace. The sample code breaks atthe following line:"ews = docs.GetEnterpriseWS(sessionInfo, sessionInfo.domain);" located inthe TreeViewctl.cs class at line 338Attached is a screenshot of the error object with all it's properties.Funny enough I do not have this problem when tryingto access the PersonalWorkspace using GetPersonalWS(SessionInfo).I'm using a straight forward LL configuration (version 9.1.0.3.90), notusing any user domains. Furhtermore using VS.NET with .NET framework 1.0.Anyone have a clue?Cheers,Sander HofmanSenior Technical ConsultantGlobal ServicesOpen Text International B.V.Mob: +31 (0) 6 53249994Phone +31 (0) 23 7504407Fax. +31 (0) 23 5553410

Without seeing the data, I can't be 100% sure, but it sounds like a problem we found in the .NET 1.0 Framework. The issue is described in the following MS KB article.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;330065
[This is fixed in the .NET 1.1 Framework]"If you have a Web service that returns object arrays of size 0, the parameter is not deserialized correctly when the client receives the response.....The English version of this fix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.Date Time Version Size File name ---------------------------------------------------------------04-Oct-2002 18:39 1.0.3705.365 1,298,432 System.xml.dll " ===========================================It appears that the issue is fixed in .NET 1.1 framework. If you have both frameworks installed, you to force LAPI Web Services to run with .NET 1.1 framework. There is another MS KB article for this:HOW TO: Specify a Version of the .NET Framework for an ASP.NET Web Application
