Pop-up Alert

Is there a way to code an "alert" when a user clicks on a custom function? For example, I've added a new item in the function menu for certain objects and I would like the user to be prompted with an "Are you sure..." alert before completing the task. Is this something that can be accomplished?

In standard Livelink it is done for the delete command. You may have a look at how that is implemented.
