Quick question regarding Reporting on Form Data

Hello,I just want to know if my understanding is correct..When I create forms if I select the storage as the SQL option then an SQL table will be created and will store my form data.If i would like to create a LiveReport to view the data in the SQL table, am I correct in sayin that my SQL query would look something like.. select * from where blah blahOr is it more complicated than that?Please let me know...i'm trying to get my head around how to access this data..Thanks,Asha

Hi Asha,

That's exactly how to access it. Also if you forgot the table name you can go to Manage Relational Tables on the template function menu - the table name will be displayed there.

Hi,I have a form setup using sets for posting rows of data against a collection of varied attributes. I've specified my data storage mechanism as the SQL table but when I run a live report to view my data I only see four columns:VolumeID, DataID, VersionNum, SeqWould I be correct in assuming if you specify your data entry inside a set your information is sent to a location within the existing table structure of livelink?Thanks,Alan

When Livelink encounters a set in a form template, it creates asub-table for the set, and it names the sub-table by taking the name of themain table for the template and appending the name of the set. For example,if we assume that the name of the table specified for the form template is"orders" and also assume the set name within the template is "invoices", theresulting name of the table created for the set will be "ordersinvoices".Thus, Livelink will create two tables for the form template: orders andordersinvoices.
