could not connect to specified server/port error?

Hi, We have a windows service that uses LAPI to connect to a Livelink instance. We have a couple different test suites we use to test this service, one is a C++ application that calls the service directly, another is an HttpUnit/Java application that calls the service indirectly through a web interface. We've been having trouble with our C++ tests that call the service directly, we will frequently get a LAPI error - "Could not connect to specified server/port. (0x8001000b). However, it's not predictable, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. The tests that access the service via a UI very rarely fail with this error. I'm suspicious that perhaps we are making the LAPI calls too fast? Has anyone else seen this error? Is there anything we can do either to the livelink instance or within our calls to LAPI to help prevent this error?Thanks for your help - DawnDawn LambethVizdom Software, Inc.dawn@vizdom.com
