New to Livelink builder..
DeloitteAdmin_(Delete)_2707331
Hello,We've just purchased the LIvelink SDK and i plan on making some modifications and creating event scripts..So far i've been working on LIvelink workflows and I was wondering if i would be able to use the builder to create extra functionality for these workflows.I was hoping to be able to do the following:* When a workflow is initiated I would like to create a script using builder that would take the names of people from a Form that is attached to my workflow and insert these names into the Management area for the workflows.. Is this possible?* Also I would like to create a script that will send an email to people listed on the Form when certain actions take place..Is this possible?Any feedback would be appreciated..Thanks,Asha

Hi Asha,Yes, everything that you have mentioned is possible with the Livelink SDK.How new to Livelink Builder are you? In addition to the oscript language syntax, you need some familiarity with creating a custom module, orphaning the appropriate objects for event scripts and making a call to the built-in smtp object for your email.Have you taken any of the Open Text Builder training? Hi Asha,I am attaching a script that was written by Martin Scott, a former Open Text Professional Services person, that will facilitate creating a module very quickly. On your development instance of Livelink, add this .lxe script into your /scripts directory. When you re-start Builder, you will have an option under the "Tools" menu to "Make a New Module". Follow the instructions and answer a couple of quick questions - you will have a new module created in the staging directory ready for installation through the Administration pages.Hope this helps.Donna

Hi Asha,After you get your module created and installed in your development environment, you will want to create your Event Scripts. For the tasks you want to accomplish, you will be creating "GeneralCallbackScripts". You should review the "Livelink Workflow Developer's Guide" before starting. To access this documentation, select "Builder Help Topics" from your Builder "Help" menu --> select the "Livelink Workflow Developer's Guide" link and look for topics that begin with "Adding Event Trigger..."This will help you get your callback object created and you might want to create a simple test script to test the functionality.Good luck and have fun!!!Donna
